YOR IV Project Name:Â NextGen Recovery
Project Description: The YOR SOAR Program Initiative in Merced County aims to support transitional-age youth (TAY, approximately ages 16‑25) who are at risk for or are experiencing opioid or stimulant use disorders.
Key components include:
* Low-barrier access to care, including outreach, prevention, early intervention, and harm reduction services.
*Medication for Opioid Use Disorder (MOUD) and other evidence‑based treatment options when clinically appropriate.
* Recovery support and peer navigation—to help youth and their families navigate services, treatment, and transitions and
*Trauma-informed, culturally responsive care tailored to the unique needs of young adults, including those in underserved or marginalized communities.
The program helps reduce overdose risk, improve treatment access, and strengthen connections across mental health, substance use, and social supports for TAY in Merced County.
